Information Management & Technology (IM&T) Strategy for 2012-2014

The new Information Management & Technology (IM&T) Strategy for 2012-2014 is now available. We are pleased to present this updated version, together with its associated road maps. The strategy and road maps will contextualise and guide ongoing IM&T planning, investment and governance decisions across VicRoads over the next three years.

The IM&T Strategy reflects new business directions and issues raised by VicRoads staff at all levels.

The Strategy focusses on these six business outcomes: Customer service delivery, community & stakeholder engagement; Vehicle registration and driver licensing; Road asset management; Road use management; Personal productivity and communication; and Corporate. The enabling strategies and actions have also been updated to address the business changes.

The road maps provide a number of views relating to the business outcome key strategies and priority actions.

We invite comments and feedback to inform future IM&T Strategies.

Feedbank wanted on draft EOI for Web Delivery Solution

VicRoads has decided to broaden online business services and customer engagement with refresh/ redesign of the current website and adoption of latest technology built on a new Web Content Management System.

We require a suitably qualified, competent, experienced and capable service provider to transition the corporate website to a new Web Delivery Solution that will support functionality and capability to allow VicRoads to continue to deliver high quality services to its customers and the organisation.

VicRoads has created a draft Expression of Interest (EOI) 8291 for the provision of an Enhanced VicRoads Website and supporting Web Delivery Solution.

Before releasing the formal EOI, we are seeking feedback on the approach and requirements in this draft document. Any feedback or questions from the industry posted on this consultation hub would be greatly appreciated.

Healesville Freeway Reservation Stakeholder Advisory Group

We received many Expressions of Interest from the local community for the two “Local Resident” positions on the Stakeholder Advisory Group. All demonstrated a good knowledge of the local area and links with the local community and we undertook a rigorous evaluation process based on the selection criteria outlined within the Expression of Interest.

The project team appreciate the time and effort that has been spent in submitting these Expressions of Interest.

The first meeting of the Stakeholder Advisory Group will be held in May. A communiqué detailing the meeting will be available from this site shortly after the meeting.

The Stakeholder Advisory Group is not the only opportunity for input into the Healesville Freeway Reservation Renewal Project. The best way for local residents to have input into the project is to participate in the community consultation activities, expected to start in September 2012.

Community consultation activities will include newspaper inserts, an on-line public forum and community workshops and will be advertised in the Whitehorse Leader, through direct mail to listed stakeholders, letter-box drops and on this website.

This is an Expression of Interest for relocating VicRoads Call Centre to Ballarat Victoria, scheduled for October 2011.

It is the first opportunity in the analysis and design stage to measure the market capability at a high level for the establishment of VicRoads Contact Centre. Future strategic direction, deliveries and associated objectives are anticipated.

The VicRoads Call Centre currently processes approximately 3.4 million incoming calls per year. Of these calls, over two and half million are answered directly by the call centre staff. Nearly 150 call centre staff are located at Kew (100) and Ballarat (50), currently based on a decentralised duplicated site model. For additional skill based support, some calls are diverted to remote agents located at several VicRoads Regional Customer Service Centres through a VOIP service. There are 96 dedicated IP trunk lines between Kew and Ballarat.

A relocation project for the Call Centre scheduled for October 2011 will see these numbers at Kew and Ballarat reversed. This project has provided an opportunity for VicRoads to bring forward the longer term Contact Centre Strategy. The projected strategic outcomes and associated objectives, which are meant to bring about a significant upgrade to the existing systems, are listed here and provide the context from which this market initiative will develop.

The VicRoads Service Desk currently uses the same technology as the Call Centre in a partitioned arrangement.

The anticipated future strategic direction is aimed at establishing a Contact Centre in Ballarat that will incorporate best of breed products, high performance, robust, scalable and future proof service that will provide VicRoads with improved KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and GOS (Grade of Service). This Expression of Interest is the first opportunity in the analysis and design stage to measure the market capability at a high level for the establishment of a Contact Centre.

Hoddle Street Study Stakeholder Advisory Group

The Hoddle Street Study Stakeholder Advisory Group has been established to inform the planning of Hoddle Street, it ensures current and emerging issues are considered in the development of options. The group is chaired by independently by Dr Scott Phillips and includes comunity, local industry and council representatives.

Attachments include the Terms of Reference and Advisory Group meeting minutes for March and May 2010.

Hoddle Street Study technical investigations and surveys

So far, we have undertaken background work and technical investigations to understand the current role of Hoddle Street and key issues relating to land use and planning.

This includes investigations on pedestrians and bicycle counts, bus and tram travel times, turning movements and traffic surveys. The information collected will help inform what the best options are for the Hoddle Street transport corridor.
