Caulfield to Dandenong Rail Crossing Study

The online discussion forum was open in August and September.  Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to provide us with feedback via the online forum and email.

Community Input into the Study

The Caulfield to Dandenong Rail Crossing Study involves the 11 rail crossings on the Pakenham and Cranbourne lines between Grange Road, Caulfield East and South Gippsland Highway, Dandenong South and investigates improvement opportunities for these crossings.  Your input into the study has been valuable.

Thank you to everyone who attended the Community Workshops run by VicRoads at Carnegie and Clayton. At these Workshops the local community provided feedback on their issues with the rail crossings along with their views on those aspects of the local environment that are important to them. They also provided local ideas on short and long term improvements for the rail crossings that impact their lives.

Due to an overwhelming response, the task of collating all of the information into a community consultation summary report has proven to be larger than we had envisaged. There were over a 1000 comments coming out of the community workshops, over 180 comments posted online, over 60 emails and many letters and phone calls.

We are still working on the community consultation summary report and it will be available on this website once it is finalised.  This summary report will be considered in the development of recommendations for future improvements at these crossings.

Refer to the Frequently Asked Questions for more information about the study.

The Victorian Government has committed to removing the rail crossing at Springvale Road, Springvale; therefore, it is not included in this study. For more information, visit the Springvale Road project website.
